Reports:

Zhimin, Paul and Chinua discussed annotation viewing interfaces on Friday. Zhimin is also working on the back end, in particular the query part. The basic problem is that we have the xml representation and the database storage: how do you make your query based on an xml schema and then transform it into a database query?

Bob went to some software courses demonstrations. One project had to do with creating taxonomic trees (folksonomies) from a set of about 20 plants/animals, to see how students thought of organizing living organisms. (A graph evaluation tool). Bob would like to invite one of the biology professors involved in this project to our meetings.

Discussion:

Demonstration of annotation view/edit interface. There is a question for development (post-demo) of what version of the record is displayed as the "main" return result. Is it the most recent version direct from the contributor? Is it a composite of that record plus annotations that are in agreement?
