Notes:

  • Brief follow-up to last week's Skype with Southwest TCN

Jim: Everyone happy with the direction?

Yes.

Paul: First cut document in hand from them.

  • TDWG

James: Abstract for Symposiuim in hand, up to 5 invited. Donald confirmed today. Have all the talks we need in hand.

Paul: Filed place holder abstract for the Interest group meeting.

James: Need to file abstract for Demo/Poster.

James: Our talk should incorporate AO and be a bit more general.

  • TDWG Demo

Return to next week.

  • Charter for the Mapper

Tim: Bertram, Lei, Tim talked on friday about the goals of the mapper. Upper layer and lower layer. Lower layer DwC to local schema, upper layer handling Annotations to DwC change sets for local data. Most of Tim's work thus far on lower layer. Do we need an explorarary stage on the upper layer.

Lei: Need clearer undertanding of AO and examples.

Bob: How soon do you want to get started on this? MS in the works, but needs introductory section more filled in. Look at MS sooner or later?

Lei: Probably be good to supplement existing documentation.

Bob will send MS to Lei.

Paul: Which example to focus on? Looks like example 3, but should create another to reflect a new determination on a particular specimen.

  • Architecture Implementation

Maureen: (1) for demo, we'll be using Zhimin's existing code and the prototype client.

Bob: Ready to return to the BOUML code generation loop?

Maureen, probably not before the demo.

  • Changes to meeting times for Fall Semester?

Do we need to make a change to the meeting time for the Semester? Bertram: I teach at noon, so should be OK for next quarter!

Bob: We need check on the room reservation at HUH.

Paul: Will check.

Bertram: Am ok with this time.

  • Bertram: Species count in the news. Interesting use case for FPush?

Bob: At end of month likely going to ecoinformatics meeting. Probably an opportunity to talk with that community about AOD.
